New Seminar & Demos...
Trail Cameras -- How to Evaluate, How to Set Them Up for Best Results

Les Davenport will share with you at the upcoming Field & Stream Deer & Turkey Expo / Wisconsin -- in seminars and at his demonstration booth --what he has learned, both good and bad, during several years of working with, testing and using trail cameras to help him find huntable, shootable big bucks.

The Expo will be March 30-31 & April 1 Alliant Energy Center in Madison. This event and similar events in Ohio, Illinois and Michigan have been purchased by Bonnier Corporation, parent company of Field & Stream and Outdoor Life magazines, from Target Communications, the previous owner, and renamed the Field & Stream Deer & Turkey Expos presented by Remington. Outdoor Life will sponsor the seminar series at each expo. Yamaha has recently signed on as the ‘Official ATV partner' of the expo. The expo will continue to be produced and operated by the previous management team.

Davenport notes that he uses gloves and a scent killer to eliminate human (hand) odor from the camera itself (to get rid of any association). "I test for trigger speed, flash range, photo clarity, and other items," he says. "Proper height is very important when using nearly all cameras. Usually six to eight feet off the ground is sufficient on level ground. Most cameras are set too low. Trail cameras spook fewer deer if they are placed high and angled downward. Incandescent or infrared flash can be detected by deer when the camera is at their eye level. That's why they should be set above the sight-plane of deer."

Davenport also will talk about the value of daytime photos, how to adjust for a buck photographed only at night, and other techniques that can make trail camera information helpful instead of just a pretty picture.

"The Field & Stream Deer & Turkey Expo events are the largest and most comprehensive of their kind," said Jay Miller, Remington Brand Manager. "The events attract thousands of passionate hunters. We're very appreciative of the opportunity and we're excited to be part of these must-attend events for sportsmen."

There will be more than 580 exhibit booths, many with new products and many offering great bargain, and more than 40 how-to hunting seminars. Seminars are free once you have your general admission ticket.

To get a $2-off ticket discount coupon, and Deer & Turkey Expo/Wisconsin details, go to the event's web-site -- -- www.deerinfo.com, click on Wisconsin icon, then Tickets.

Tech Information Center is #1 Attraction at Deer & Turkey Expo

The Tech Information Center, in only two years of existence, has become the Number 1 attraction at the Field & Stream Deer & Turkey Expo / WISCONSIN, formerly titled the Wisconsin Deer & Turkey Expo. More than 50 percent of last year's attendees listed the Tech Info Center as one of the main attractions, and individual topics within the Tech Info Area were nearly as popular as the area as a whole.

"This is the age of face-time, of immediate two-way communications," notes Glenn Helgeland. producer of the Expo. "Today's hunters want to know how things tick, and they want the opportunity to get answers to their questions from experts."

The 28th annual Deer & Turkey Expo will be March 30-31 & April 1 at the Alliant Energy Center in Madison.

Tech Info subjects and experts --

Firearms Answer Man -- Ron Spomer, noted outdoor writer and host of several cable television outdoor programs;

Archery Answer Man -- Larry Wise, championship archer, international archery coach, magazine columnist and author of several books on archery equipment and shooting form;

Slug Guns & Muzzleloaders Answer Man -- Dave Henderson, outdoor writer specializing in these two topics and technical consultant to the manufacturing industry;

Hunting Clothes / Footwear Answer Man -- Mike Faw, outdoor writer and hunting magazine columnist specializing in these topics.

Optics Hands-On Tryout Area -- Shared jointly by Spomer, Faw and Henderson, all with a wealth of knowledge in optics.

Food Plots Demonstration Area -- Presented by the events' producer with the help of food plot seminar speakers, this contains plant samples, printed guidelines, plant identification photos and a host of other food plot information;

Turkey Hunting & Deer Hunting Answer Man -- Gary Sefton, world champion caller in both categories and long-time outdoor writer and hunting gear salesman.

All Tech Info Center booths will be grouped on the exhibit floor. The area will be well marked with overhead banners.

The four Midwestern deer and turkey expos previously owned and produced by Target Communications in Ohio, Michigan, Illinois and Wisconsin were purchased late last year by Bonnier Corp, parent company of Field & Stream and Outdoor Life magazines, and renamed the Field & Stream Deer & Turkey Expos, presented by Remington.

Yamaha has recently signed on as 'Official ATV partner' of the expo.

The expos will continue to be produced and operated by the previous management team from Target Communications.
