What's New 2012
A familiar event for Michigan hunters this time of year -- the Michigan Deer & Turkey Spectacular -- has a new name. It's now the Field & Stream Deer & Turkey Expo / Michigan, presented by Remington. The expo will be February 17th through 19th at the Lansing Center in Lansing. This is the event's 26th year. It is one of four deer and turkey expos recently purchased by Bonnier Corporation, parent company of Field & Stream and Outdoor Life.
Other new items include two trophy buck contests instead of the traditional one contest, with merchandise prizes in both contests ... trail cameras seminars and demonstrations ... coyote, fox and bobcat calling seminars ... and a display of locked anters ... 29 whitetail deer antler sets and one set of locked caribou antlers.
The deer and turkey expo will have nearly 250 exhibit booths ... more than 40 how-to seminars ... airgun, archery and laser shooting ranges ... and a deer skeleton with all the parts identified.

Byron Ferguson, Archery Trick Shot
If your family wants to see an amazing archery performance, go to the upcoming Field & Stream Deer & Turkey Expo and watch trick shot Byron Ferguson shoot pennies out of the air with bow and arrow.
The 26th annual Deer & Turkey Expo, presented by Remington, had been titled the Michigan Deer & Turkey Spectacular, will be February 17th through the 20th at the Lansing Center in Lansing. Ferguson will give two performances Saturday, the 18th and two Sunday, the 19th.
The event is now owned by Bonnier Corp, parent company of Field & Stream and Outdoor Life magazines.
"The Field & Stream Deer & Turkey Expo events are the largest and most comprehensive of their kind," said Jay Miller, Remington Brand Manager. "The events attract thousands of passionate hunters. We're very appreciative of the opportunity and we're excited to be part of these must-attend events for sportsmen."
In addition to pennies, Ferguson shoots wooden discs and Lifesavers from the air, snuffs a candle with an arrow, shoots backward using a mirror to aim and bursts inflated balloons while shooting from all sorts of contorted positions. He also gets kids involved in an interesting finale.

Tech Information Center Top Attraction at Michigan Deer & Turkey Event
In only two years, the Tech Information Center has become the Numbe One attraction at the Michigan Deer & Turkey Spectacular, which is now known as the Field & Stream Deer & Turkey Expo / Michigan. The expo for deer and turkey hunters, in its 26th year, will be February 17th through 19th at the Lansing Center in Lansing.
This year's Tech Info Center will include a new hot topic -- Calling & Hunting Midwestern Predators. It's a hot topic because coyote, bobcat and other predator populations are growing, and they have an effect on deer herds.
Predator-hunting expert Mike Brust is the go-to guy to get your questions answered. Brust is a Wisconsin based coyote, fox and bobcat caller/hunter who's been doing it for fifty years.
Other Tech Info Center outdoor experts will answer your questions on archery, shotguns, muzzleloaders, hunting clothes, footwear, binoculars and scopes, food plots, plus general deer and turkey hunting. Nationally-known outdoor writers will staff all tables in the Tech Info Center. The center will be well marked and easy to find on the exhibit floor.
