Tickets will NOT be on sale at the Clarion Hotel.
You will save a lot of walking if you buy tickets in advance. Just go through the tunnel and present your tickets to the ticket taker stationed at the entrance to the AEC concourse. There is an entry gate to the expo at the west end of the connecting tunnel from the Clarion to the Alliant Energy Center.
