ENTRY TIMES
Noon Friday to 10:00 AM Sunday

ENTRY FEE

 

 1)

Do NOT buy admission ticket. (Everyone else with you must buy a general admission ticket.)
  2)

Go to contest registration entrance and then to contest registration table.
  3) Entry fee is $15 (you also get a weekend pass -- $30 value) for first entry and all entries not already officially measured; $7.50 for multiple entries, after first entry, already officially measured and for which you can show proof of official measuring. If you cannot show proof, fee is $15.

  Entries do not need to be mounted, but they must have a solid skull plate.

ADDITIONAL RULES
Two antler brackets in every whitetail deer entry and divisional category:

  • Typical Antlers (8-, 9-, 10-, 11-, 12- and 13+-point classes)
  • Non-Typical Antlers (all antlers in one class regardless of points)

No entries released between noon and 3:00 PM Sunday. This is when all scores are being double-checked, winners determined, winner cards posted, etc. It is a paperwork crunch requiring maximum attention to detail.

AWARDS
Sunday 4:00 PM. Trophy must be present to win. Awards based on antler score.

Awards proportional to entries:
1-3 entries in class = 1 award;
4-8 entries in class = 2 awards;
9 or more entries in class = 3 awards.

Award trophies and participation ribbons given. No cash or merchandise prizes.

ANTLER MEASURING

Trophy measuring/scoring by members of the Buckeye Big Buck Club (BBBC). Certified measurers on hand for Pope & Young Club and Boone & Crockett Club qualifiers.

2008 OUTDOOR PHOTO CONTEST

GUIDELINES & COMPLETE RULES

  • The contest is open to amateur photographers.
  • There are five categories in the photo contest:
      1) Fauna (North American only)
      2) Flora (North American only/wild plants only)
      3) Scenic
      4) People in the Outdoors
      5) Miscellaneous/Novelty
  • No ‘hero’ photos of game or fish taken; no photos of pets.
  • Entry fee is $5 for up to three photos, and $5 for every additional group of one to three photos.
  • You must first purchase a show general admission ticket before you can enter the photo contest.
  • Bring your entries to the show office; no mail-in entries are accepted.
  • Entry deadline is 10:00 AM Sunday.
  • Black-and-white or color prints only.
  • Photos may be mounted, but cannot include glass.
  • Image size can be anywhere from 5”x7” minimum to 11”x14” maximum.
  • Your name, address and telephone number, including area code, and choice of contest category, must be on the back of each entry.
  • Judging will be at noon Sunday.
  • There may be up to three awards per category. Participation ribbons for every
  • Photos must remain on display until 3:00 PM Sunday. They will be available after that for pick-up in the Show Office. 2008 STATE TURKEY CALLING CHAMPIONSHIP

Conducted by the Ohio Chapter - National Wild Turkey Federation. NWTF rules. NWTF sanctioned event.


Held in the Lecture Hall of the DiSalle Building from noon to 5:00 PM Saturday, March 15. Doors open at 9:00 AM, with registration beginning at 11:00 AM. DiSalle Building is on the north side of 17th Avenue, across the street from the Bricker Building where the Deer & Turkey Expo is held.

Admission is $3 per person. Tickets available at the DiSalle Building door. This ticket gets you in to see the calling contest only. It is a separate ticket from the Deer & Turkey Expo ticket.
