25th Anniversary Recognition by AEC
of Wisconsin Deer & Turkey Expo
Glenn & Judy Helgeland   * Glenn and Judy Helgeland, producers of the Wisconsin Deer & Turkey Expo, pose with the painted whitetail deer that now is the third piece of artwork in the Exhibition Hall lobby at the Alliant Energy Center of Dane County in Madison.  Two scenes, both favorable to whitetail deer, are painted on this colorful buck -- a rural scene on the left side and a woodland scene on the right side.  This artwork recognizes the contributions to the Alliant Energy Center the Wisconsin Deer & Turkey Expo has made through the years.

Proclamation
 

WHEREAS;

The Wisconsin Deer & Turkey is celebrating its 25th anniversary; and
   

WHEREAS;

The Wisconsin Deer & Turkey Expo regularly brings in excess of 25,000 people to Dane County from 25 states and the Wisconsin Deer and Turkey Expo annually provides annual economic impact in excess of $1 million dollars to Dane County and State of Wisconsin; and
   

WHEREAS;

Glenn and Judy Helgeland, owners of Target Communications, the company that presents the Deer and Turkey Expo, have been great supporters of the County’s Alliant Energy Center complex and have helped it attract additional events in addition to the Wisconsin Deer & Turkey Expo; and
   

WHEREAS;

The Wisconsin Deer and Turkey Expo has provided annual contributions to the Wisconsin Buck & Bear Club and the Wisconsin Buck & Bear Club in turn provides support for various conservation groups, natural resource groups, and hunting organizations throughout the State; and
   

WHEREAS;

I hereby recognize Glenn and Judy Helgeland and Target Communications for their significant contributions to hunting, the success of the Alliant Energy Center, and the Dane County economy over the past 25 years;

 

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT I, Kathleen M. Falk, Dane County Executive, do hereby proclaim April 3rd to April 5th, 2009 as

 

 

WISCONSIN DEER AND TURKEY EXPO WEEKEND
